THE PAST,THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE

From its humble beginnings in 1888 to its current stature as a 250-bed multi specialty hospital, CSI Rainy, has grown to meet the needs of the community. Given the limited resources particularly over the past several years, the hospital has been stagnant in its Services. However, we have now witnessed a steady growth with additional inputs in terms of equipment & Infrastructure development, which is chronicled in the attached video.

FIRST PAEDIATRIC OPEN HEART SURGERY UNDER KALAIGNAR KAPEEDU THITTAM

8th January 2010 was a special day in the hospital . 6 years old Agassi Victor who was suffering from a sepal defect in the heart was operated at C.S.I Rainy hospital successfully. Drawn from a low socio economic background, Agassi's family is very grateful to the Kalaignar kapeetu thittam which enabled them to have open heart surgery for Agassi at no cost to them. The family is also happy with the treatment they received at the hospital. This marks, what we hope will be the beginning of a cardiac program aimed at helping the marginalised section of our society. That the hospital now has the expertise and infra structure to offer open heart surgery for little children and adults is a matter of great pride for us.

We have instituted several awards including Christina Rainy Best Employee Award of this year given to employees of different departments. We have also instituted the Alexandrina Mc Phail award for Meritorious Medical Mission Service and this year’s recipient was Dr. Iris Paul for her dedicated service amongst the marginalized people of malkangiri Orissa. These awards were given away at the function held at the hospital premises. Dr. Iris Paul also released the Hospital Souvenir on that day.
